Shooting

Both the Douglas and Hirsel Estates are renowned for the quality of their shooting (Douglas for grouse, hill partridges, and high pheasants, Hirsel for its wonderful pheasant shoot), the shooting and wildlife of both Estates were immortalised by Sir Alec Douglas-Home in his book "Border Reflections".
