Mountherrick
Mountherrick enjoys an idyllic situation in the heart of the Douglas Estate, surrounded by open countryside and panoramic views, these three holiday cottages set within a courtyard, have been renovated and furnished to a five star standard, providing excellent accommodation from which to explore the surrounding areas.
Wonderful walking and cycling are available direct from the door, and the Southern Upland Way, Scotland's Coast to Coast long distance walk, runs close by.
It is an ideal base for hill walking, wildlife and bird watching, sightseeing, shooting or fishing.
Nearby Biggar has a number of specialist shops, pubs, eateries, a Victorian style puppet theatre, museums, and its famous Hogmanay bonfire and street party.
Within easy reach of the cities of Edinburgh, with its famous castle and Nationally renowned Festival (which runs throughout the month of August), world class museums, and restaurants, and Glasgow, a vibrant bustling city – home to the Scottish Ballet and Scottish Opera.
The cottages were created from the conversion of a traditional farm steading using the Estate's own labour and local tradesmen.
