Leet Haugh - Hirsel Estate
Leet Haugh is a development of unique 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes located on the Western outskirts of Coldstream.
Hudson Hirsel was established in order to deliver a unique development of homes to reflect the quality and importance of the site situated on the edge of the historic Hirsel Estate.
Hudson Hirsel combines the balance and experience of sensitively designed new residential development and the sustainable management provided by the Home Family who have been guardians of the Hirsel Estate for the last four Centuries. Hudson Hirsel want home owners to be as proud of being part of the Hirsel Estate, just as we want to be proud of perpetuating the historic legacy of both the Hirsel and Coldstream.
The development comprises a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes which are specifically designed to suit modern living within the structure of a “country estate”. The architectural style and design reflects the regional design vernacular but with the use of some contemporary influence in the specification and detailing to ensure that homes provide traditional qualities with the benefits of modern energy efficient living. .
The “estate” structure provides a range of accommodation from “gates lodges” in a bungalow style to “farm houses” and “factors houses” in detached one and half storey homes around the village green, to “stable mews”, “mill buildings” and “workers cottages” within the courtyard/mews area. Whilst providing traditional homes, a selection of house types will provide walk-in dressing rooms, en-suites, country kitchens, traditional utility/mudrooms and all homes will incorporate built-in wardrobes.
The development was designed, by Borders architects, Aitken & Turnbull, to form its own sense of place within Coldstream.
Planning consent for the development was granted in August 2010, work commenced on site in June 2011 and the first owners moved into Leet Haugh in February 2012.
